SIMVITE

I got tired of using text messages to invite my buddies to poker night, or a golf outing or a trip out on the boat.  I would invariably run into one or more of the following:

 

20 person limit on the text messages

I would have to break the invite into 2 messages, then almost always I would leave someone off the list.  And the folks that I was inviting couldn't see who was invited, who accepted and who declined.

Unwanted Off Topic Discussion

If your friends are anything like mine the invite text turns into some off topic discussion about anything other than the invitation.

Who Is In and Who Is Out?

You have to go back through the text messages to figure out who was actually in and who was out.  And the people you invite have to do the same to figure out who is coming or not.

Too Complicated

Other invitation services are great, but they are like killing a mosquito with a sledgehammer for what I needed.  And I didn't always have emails for my friends.  And when you sign up for those services your email inbox gets spammed.  And I swear that half the time the "unsubscribe" button just verifies that they got a real human and they double down the on the spam...

No Way to Limit the Responses

Sometimes my invitation needed to have a limit of those that could go.  Like a boat trip where I only had spots for 5 people.  With text messages and other services there was no way to specify this.

So, after 4-5 years of this struggle I decided to create SIMVITE that solved these problems:

​

1 - It is stupid simple.  A few clicks and you had the invite off to your friends.  Using the contacts straight from your phone.

​

2 - It is 100% phone number based (no emails and spam).  The invite is texted to your invitees and they click a link to see who responded and to respond themselves.  Invitees don't need the app to see the invitation and to respond.

 

3 - A straight forward pay as you go model (no selling of your data or spamming you with advertisements).  We want to be honest with our users and have them pay for what they use.  No advertisements, no selling your data to the highest bidder.  If you don't think a dollar is worth your time, then there are lots of free apps you can use.
